Lavrov Warns of Unconventional War with Europe, Dismisses Iran Arms Claims
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the continuation of conflict is not beneficial for any party, neither the United States nor Iran. He categorically denied and dismissed as exaggeration reports alleging that Russia and China are supplying weapons to Iran amid its dispute with the United States.
Lavrov suggested that political circles opposing the development of nuclear weapons might emerge in Iran following a recent aggression against the country. He emphasized that Russia has no intention of attacking any nation, but warned that an unconventional war would ensue if Europe initiates a conflict with Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Minister also confirmed that Russia has not received any proposals to resume the Black Sea Grain Initiative. He further expressed concern over reports indicating Germany’s intent to acquire nuclear weapons.
Lavrov announced his intention to meet with the U.S. Secretary of State the following day, stating that discussions with Rubio would address the current U.S. stance on resolving the Ukraine crisis.
Regarding North Korea, Lavrov indicated that Russia would no longer adhere to calls for nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula, especially given the pressure faced by Pyongyang. He warned that the complexity of the situation and the abandonment of agreements concerning North Korea could lead to severe consequences.
He asserted that countries with a colonial history consistently work to undermine efforts towards establishing a multipolar world. Lavrov added that if the root causes of the Ukraine crisis are not addressed, many issues will remain unresolved.
Lavrov commented on the U.S. decision to permit Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium, stating that Russia considers peaceful enrichment a right of every nation. He also characterized the current dialogue surrounding the Ukraine crisis as unilateral, deeming UN Secretary-General Guterres’ plan as such. Lavrov noted that U.S. support for Ukraine extends beyond military aid to include intelligence support via Starlink.
