South Korea Dispatches Research Team to Strait of Hormuz Amid Diplomatic Challenges
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the South Korean Ministry of Defense has sent a team to the Middle East to evaluate security conditions, an action that has faced diplomatic challenges despite Seoul’s denial of US pressure for military equipment deployment. The news was reported by Yonhap, citing Mehr News Agency.
Seoul emphasizes that this mission is purely for research purposes and, contrary to rumors, there is no deadline for troop deployment. The ministry stated that the team’s presence is to investigate the security situation, not to engage in any military operations.
In response, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Bakhaii, highlighted the long-standing and mutually respectful relationship between Tehran and Seoul. He warned that during the Iranian nation’s defense against US war crimes, any operational complicity in the region would be construed as support for the aggressor. He stressed that no responsible country would yield to US demands for participation in aggressive actions.
