Iraq Vows to Prevent Neighboring Country Attacks from Its Territory

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s armed forces have emphatically stated that they will not allow their territory to be used as a staging ground for attacks against any of their neighboring countries. This declaration comes as the September 30 deadline for the end of the international coalition’s mission in Iraq approaches, with daily progress reported in the coalition’s withdrawal.

A spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces announced that a committee has been formed to define the nature of future relations with the international coalition, based on principles of equality. Following September 30, engagement with coalition countries will transition into a cooperative framework.

Discussions to resolve the issue of weaponry are set to accelerate after the September 30 deadline. The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces has prioritized the acquisition of air defense systems, with deliveries expected soon from South Korea, Turkey, and the United States.

Senior Iraqi officials emphasized Baghdad’s commitment to preventing the misuse of Iraqi soil for aggression against any neighboring states. Furthermore, it was stated that the terrorist group ISIS has been defeated in Iraq and no longer poses a threat, marking the conclusion of Operation “Firm Resolve.” Iraqi security forces are reported to be at the highest level of readiness, with coordinated plans in place for all eventualities.
