Hamas Official States Israeli Forces Control 70% of Gaza Strip
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Khaled Meshaal, head of Hamas’s political bureau outside Palestine, stated on Sunday that the issue of Gaza must remain at the forefront of international attention. He cautioned that the forced displacement plan by the leaders of the occupying regime persists concurrently with ongoing military operations and the expansion of control over vast areas of the Strip.
Meshaal indicated that occupying forces now hold military control over approximately 70 percent of the Gaza Strip’s area. He added that the enemy is endeavoring to isolate remaining areas by establishing security checkpoints and buffer zones.
He also issued warnings regarding the dangers of military advances towards densely populated residential areas and refugee settlements.
Meshaal elaborated that events in Gaza are accompanied by escalating tensions in the occupied West Bank, where the destruction of infrastructure, targeting of camps, displacement of Palestinians, and the implementation of settlement plans and annexation of crossings continue with intensity.
The head of Hamas’s political bureau abroad stressed that developments in Gaza and the West Bank are part of a continuous path aimed at targeting the very essence of Palestinian existence. He urged that the events in Gaza should not be treated as a separate issue from the overall Palestinian cause.
