Hamas Military Wing Mourns Martyrdom of Top Commander Ezz El-Deen Al-Bik
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, has issued a statement congratulating and mourning the martyrdom of Ezz El-Deen Abdulaziz Al-Bik, known as “Abu Hamza.” Al-Bik was a member of the Qassam military council and the commander of the northern Gaza Strip brigade.
The statement detailed that Al-Bik was martyred on Tuesday morning, September 29, 2026, corresponding to Rabi’ al-Thani 18, 1448 AH, following an assassination operation. During the Al-Aqsa Intifada, Al-Bik led the first special unit in the northern brigade. He later assumed command of the “Emad Akel” battalion in 2009 and took responsibility for military intelligence for the northern brigade in 2015. He subsequently became one of the commanders in the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operations room, overseeing the border crossing operations on October 7.
Following the martyrdom of Ahmad Al-Ghandour, known as “Abu Anas,” Ezz El-Deen Al-Bik took command of the northern Gaza Strip brigade, directing the resistance’s defensive battles in the northern Gaza region through various stages.
The Qassam Brigades further announced that Al-Bik continued to fight alongside resistance forces for 107 days during the siege of the northern Gaza Strip, referred to as the “Generals’ Plan.” This operation was thwarted by the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and the resolve of the mujahideen.
The statement emphasized that despite the martyrdom of its commanders, the Qassam Brigades remain steadfast in their belief in the legitimacy and sanctity of the Palestinian cause. They view the path paved by Ezz El-Deen Al-Bik and other commanders with their blood as the route to victory and liberation.
The statement concluded by asserting that the escalating crimes of the Zionist regime only strengthen the determination of various Palestinian generations to continue their resistance. The blood of their commanders and forces will not be shed in vain, and the resolve of the resistance will not waver.
