China Backs Diplomatic Solutions for Ukraine Crisis, Responds to US President’s Remarks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has reiterated its support for diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that dialogue and negotiation are the sole practical avenues for resolving the conflict and that Beijing backs all effective initiatives aimed at establishing peace.
This statement follows remarks made by United States President Donald Trump on Sunday, October 11th, who announced an agreement between Russia and Ukraine for an immediate ceasefire in the energy sector. Axios reported that President Trump expressed anger towards Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, expecting Kyiv to cease attacks on Russian oil refineries.
A source within the White House indicated to Axios that President Trump is intensely displeased. The US President reportedly feels that President Zelensky does not sufficiently appreciate Washington’s support. Furthermore, the source suggested that Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries are more detrimental to President Trump’s relationship with President Zelensky than to Russia.
