Saudi Arabia Confirms Aramco Facility Targeted in Dhahran

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy has confirmed that an administrative building belonging to Saudi Aramco in Dhahran was targeted, causing a minor fire with no casualties. The incident coincides with retaliatory operations by Yemeni forces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior official at the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy announced on Tuesday evening that an administrative building owned by Saudi Aramco in Dhahran, located in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province, was targeted. The official statement indicated that the attack resulted in a minor fire but no fatalities.

Earlier reports from Reuters, citing informed sources, had stated that the central headquarters of Aramco in Dhahran was struck by a projectile, prompting the company’s management to instruct employees to work remotely until further notice.

These attacks occur concurrently with retaliatory operations conducted by the Yemeni armed forces against positions held by the Saudi-led coalition. Saudi Arabia has been engaged in a military invasion and a comprehensive blockade of Yemen since 2015, leading to a significant humanitarian crisis in the country. However, recent successes by the Yemeni army and popular committees, including control over strategic areas like the Bab al-Mandab strait, have shifted the balance of power in the region against the Saudi-led coalition.
