Russia Targets Ukraine’s Military Energy Infrastructure

Russia has launched a widespread overnight attack, targeting energy and communication infrastructure linked to Ukraine’s armed forces in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. The strikes, utilizing precision-guided land-based weapons and long-range drones, aimed at facilities supporting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Ministry of Defense announced that its forces conducted a large-scale overnight operation, striking energy and communication infrastructure connected to the armed forces of Ukraine. The targeted areas included the capital city of Kyiv, the wider Kyiv region, and the city of Kharkiv.

The report indicates that the offensive employed precision-guided land-based weaponry and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles. The facilities that were attacked were utilized for the support of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and its armed forces.

This development follows statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump on October 11, who had announced an agreement between Russia and Ukraine to establish a ceasefire in the energy sector. Nevertheless, reports have emerged of continued attacks on the energy infrastructure of both nations.

Moscow has asserted that its strikes are aimed at infrastructure associated with Ukraine’s military capabilities. Ukrainian officials, however, have accused Russia of persistent attacks on energy facilities and residential areas.
