Trump Repeats Baseless Claims Against Iran at Arizona Rally

During an election rally in Arizona, U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his long-standing, unsubstantiated assertions about Iran’s military capabilities and its nuclear program, while also discussing domestic issues.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at an election rally in Arizona, repeated his familiar claims about Iran to energize his supporters. He asserted that Iran no longer possesses an army or navy, and that all its forces have been destroyed.

Trump reiterated his remarks, seemingly to deflect from his previous withdrawal from negotiation tables and his extensive demands, stating, “We don’t know who we are dealing with [in Iran] right now.” He went on to make outlandish claims, stating, “The leaders of Iran have been killed, and it’s no longer clear who the negotiation partner is.” The U.S. President claimed for the tenth time this month that “no one wants to be the President of Iran now.”

Without acknowledging statements from Iranian officials regarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, Trump insisted on the necessity of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and claimed that measures must be taken to guarantee Tehran does not achieve this capability. He asserted, “Before the United States attacked Iran’s positions, the country was only two weeks away from obtaining nuclear weapons,” to legitimize a potential attack.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. President claimed that America has taken full control of this waterway and is now exporting more oil through it than before. To evade responsibility for his policies, which he suggested are causing the public to pay for fuel, Trump claimed, “The price of gasoline will decrease as soon as the war with Iran ends, and will even fall below the level before the start of military operations.”

In another part of his claims, Trump promoted himself, criticizing former U.S. presidents for not taking the actions he is now pursuing against Iran, stating they should have prioritized these steps earlier but instead waited. The U.S. President also sought to justify his failed economic policies regarding Iran, which he linked to the country’s fuel crisis, asserting that the cost borne by the American people in this regard is negligible and that he had expected energy prices to rise much higher.

In another segment of his remarks, Trump expressed anger over the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) lack of cooperation in a war against Iran, while simultaneously claiming that Washington does not require assistance from any party to confront Iran. He also described the U.S. midterm elections as very important, stating, “These elections may be the most important elections we have ever witnessed.”
