Syria Claims Foiling Terrorist Plot Against Homs Refinery While Hezbollah Rejects Allegations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Syrian Interior Ministry announced that its general intelligence apparatus, in cooperation with internal security forces, successfully neutralized a planned terrorist attack aimed at the Homs refinery. Authorities in Damascus alleged that a cell affiliated with Lebanese Hezbollah orchestrated the plot, claiming that security operations led to the arrest of involved members and the seizure of explosives prepared for the assault.
In response, the media relations office of Hezbollah strongly refuted the allegations made in the internal security statement, dismissing the claims of an associated network as entirely baseless. The movement emphasized that it maintains no military presence or operational activities inside Syrian territory that could compromise the nation’s security and stability.
Hezbollah further stressed that its primary focus remains confronting the Israeli enemy, which continues its aggressions against Lebanon and Syria while occupying parts of both countries. The resistance movement underscored that countering these expansionist plots should remain the overriding priority for all parties, warning that unverified accusations ultimately serve only Israeli interests.
This incident marks another instance where security authorities in Syria have accused Hezbollah of involvement in plots targeting the Homs refinery, reflecting ongoing tensions regarding bilateral security narratives between the two neighbors.
