US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Will Not Step Down Amid Congressional Pressure

Advisors to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have firmly rejected speculation regarding his potential resignation, asserting that he will remain in office throughout President Donald Trump’s term despite mounting pressure from the House of Representatives.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Tim Parlatore, a member of the advisory team, stated in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has no plans to step down before the conclusion of President Donald Trump’s presidential term.

This reaction follows recent reports indicating that members of the US House of Representatives might vote in favor of his dismissal. In this regard, Tim Parlatore emphasized, “He is going nowhere and will remain in his position.”

Previously, CNN reported that the House of Representatives could vote on Hegseth’s removal as early as this week, with several Republican lawmakers prepared to support the initiative. Republican Representative Thomas Massie also noted that he would actively pursue the matter and would only reconsider his stance if Hegseth chose to resign.

Additionally, the network pointed out that certain members of the Republican Party hold Hegseth responsible for flawed intelligence assessments regarding the conflict with Iran.
