Blinken goes to Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister

Wen Bin said that Blinken will visit this country on April 24-26 (May 5-7) at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

The CNN television network claimed in a report yesterday that Blinken, amid the current tensions in the region and with the aim of expressing concern about what was called China’s support for Russia, this week He travels to Beijing to ensure the continuity of US-China relations.

This is Blinken’s second visit to China as the US Secretary of State. Last year, after the escalation of tension between the two countries due to the downing of a Chinese research balloon in American airspace with a fighter, he had gone to China in an effort to restore stability to the relations between Beijing and the United States.

A senior official of the US State Department told CNN that Blinken has three goals from this trip; “The first to advance negotiations on important issues; Expressing clear and direct concern in the field of regional and global relations; And thirdly, managing the competition between the two countries by observing the principles of responsibility.”
