reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Al-Mayadin, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claimed that Russia has carried out a ground attack in the city of Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine.
Reuters also quoted a senior Ukrainian source as reporting that Russian forces have advanced one kilometer inside Kharkiv city in eastern Ukraine this Friday.
This Ukrainian source added that the purpose of Russia’s advance is to reach a distance of 10 kilometers inside Kharkiv in order to create a buffer zone.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also announced the dispatch of auxiliary forces to Seman Kharkiv and claimed that the Russian attacks have been repelled so far and the fighting is still going on.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also claimed at a press conference in Kiev that Ukrainian forces were ready to counter this attack, although it is possible that Russia will send more forces to Kharkiv.
