Putin: Zelensky has usurped power in Ukraine
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Rashatodi, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that Volodymyr Zelensky usurped the presidency of Ukraine.
Despite the end of his presidency on May 20, Zelensky is still in power in Ukraine. He has refused to hold presidential elections under the pretext of military rule due to the war with Russia. According to him, his presidency in Ukraine is legal and elections cannot be held during the war!
Putin pointed out that the Ukrainian constitution prohibits holding elections in times of emergency and explicitly emphasized that the elected legislators should continue to serve until the new cabinet is chosen. to continue their activities, he clarified that, however, the extension of the presidential term is not defined in the Kyiv constitution!
He emphasized: There are clauses related to power usurpation in the criminal law. It seems that we are facing usurpation of power in Ukraine.
Putin went on to say that Moscow is still able to negotiate with Kiev, but according to the Ukrainian constitution, the power and authority of the president should be handed over to the speaker of the country’s parliament.
He clarified: In this case, if you want to negotiate, you can find someone to do it.
Ruslan Stefanchuk, the speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, has emphasized that Zelensky will remain the president and described anyone who questions his legitimacy as an “enemy”!
