The death of nearly 200 UNRWA aid workers in Gaza

The brutality of the Zionist regime in Gaza has taken the lives of nearly 200 UNRWA employees so far.

In addition to widespread devastation, the 9-month war of the Zionist regime in Gaza has killed tens of thousands of civilians and displaced 2 million Palestinians inside the strip. The Zionist army considers every movement in Gaza as a legitimate target. Therefore, it is not surprising that relief teams are also the targets of Zionist attacks.  

According to Al Jazeera, Philippe Lazzarini, General Commissioner of the Relief and Employment Agency for Palestinian Refugees known as UNRWA, announced today (Monday) that since the start of the Gaza war on October 7th, at least 196 UNRWA aid workers have been killed in attacks ( Israel’s regime have lost their lives to this strain.  

Referring to the extensive destruction in Gaza, he pointed out that more than 50% of UNRWA’s facilities in Gaza were destroyed in Zionist attacks, and more than 500 civilians who took refuge in UN facilities were killed.  

At least 16 people died and 75 were injured in the attack of the Zionist regime on a school affiliated with UNRWA in Gaza on Saturday.  

The parliament of the Zionist regime, known as the Knesset, now has a bill in hand, based on which it seeks to declare UNRWA as a terrorist organization. Also, this bill will prevent the continuation of the activities of this organization affiliated to the United Nations in the occupied territories and East Jerusalem. Also, UNRWA employees will be deprived of the immunity that UN employees have in the occupied territories.
