Increase in donations to the Democratic Party after Biden’s resignation

Kamala Harris' campaign has raised $200 million in donations since Joe Biden's resignation.

The campaign team of Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States and the possible candidate of the Democrats, announced that she has collected 200 million dollars in donations within the last week (since the announcement of Biden’s resignation).

According to Sky News, the deputy director of the Harris campaign said that 66% of donations were collected from new donors.

U.S. President Joe Biden finally announced last Sunday that he is withdrawing from the election race and will be supporting Kamala Harris in the next election, following repeated language slips that showed his mental weakness. A series of polls show that Harris’ entry into the race eroded Trump’s lead over Biden within days.

Kamala Harris has so far won the support of the majority of the representatives of the Democratic National Convention and it is very likely that she will be announced as the official candidate of this party by the end of August.

Harris’ entry into the election campaign has been accompanied by a series of rhetoric against Donald Trump, the former president and Republican candidate. Harris, a former prosecutor, called Trump a “criminal” in his first campaign speech and said he knew people like him through his previous job.
