According to the foreign policy group of Fars news agency, Ali Gholampour, the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kenya, presented his credentials to Kenyan President William Samui Ruto at the presidential palace.
In this meeting, the President of Kenya, while welcoming the new Iranian ambassador at the beginning of his mission, emphasized the increasing expansion and strengthening of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran with the aim of creating more business, investment and development opportunities.

Ali Gholampour, Iran’s ambassador to Kenya, after presenting his credentials, while conveying the warm and sincere greetings of Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi to his Kenyan counterpart, expressed his hope that the coming period will see further development and expansion. bilateral relations and strengthen political, economic and cultural cooperation.
Gholampour previously served as the head of the Department of Development and International Financial and Commercial Institutions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deputy permanent representative of Iran to the Commission Economic and Social Council of the United Nations for Asia and the Pacific (SCOPE), the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, and a member of the board of directors of the Global Climate Change Fund. Before Gholampour, Jafar Barmaki was in charge of the Iranian embassy in Nairobi.
The new Iranian ambassador in Nairobi had already submitted a copy of his letter of credence to the official of the Kenyan government. In that meeting, he also expressed his hope that with the will of the authorities, the relations between the two friendly countries will expand.
