The Security Council extended UNIFIL’s mission in Lebanon

The UN Security Council has extended the peacekeeping force mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for one year.

reported by Mehr News Agency, the Security Council voted in favor of extending the mission of UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon (UNIFL).

The Al Jazeera news network reported this Wednesday evening that the United Nations Security Council unanimously passed a resolution to extend the mission of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) approved for another year.

On the other hand, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati welcomed the extension of the temporary mission of the UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.

On this basis, 15 members of the United Nations Security Council unanimously agreed to France’s proposal for the temporary mission of UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon for another year.
