Myanmar: We want to join BRICS
Myanmar’s Minister of Information, “Maung Maung Ohn” announced that this country wants to join BRICS as an observer country.
The Minister of Information of Myanmar announced on the sidelines of the BRICS media meeting: We are ready to cooperate for integration as an observer country, without full membership.
The Myanmar official added that the country’s officials are interested in participating in the BRICS summit in Kazan, although they have not yet received an invitation.
He mentioned that Myanmar wants to apply for full membership in the BRICS group in the future.
The Minister of Information of Myanmar reminded: Many countries in our region, in Southeast Asia have applied and we would like to do this.
The 7th BRICS media summit will be held in Moscow on September 13-17 with the presence of leaders and prominent experts of more than 60 media from 45 countries. This meeting is hosted by the Russian state news agency Tass.
