Fidan: Türkiye wants to join BRICS

The foreign minister of Türkiye announced the country's desire to join the BRICS group.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the country is looking to join the BRICS group.

Turkish Foreign Minister said that Ankara is willing to join this group, but does not have enough information about institutional development in this group.

In this regard, Fidan added that considering the continuous diversity at the global level, Ankara will definitely explore various options in the field of commercial and economic cooperation. The BRICS group is now a platform for cooperation, but it is not institutionalized enough. When Türkiye joins this group, it will see the process of evolution in this group.

Turkey’s foreign minister mentioned in an interview that if Turkey’s economic cooperation with the European Union led to the country’s full membership in this union, Ankara would look for alternatives around the world. was not But considering this issue, Ankara has always been looking for new opportunities to expand its commercial and economic cooperation.
