The head of the Russian Federation Council announced on Saturday that the three-day BRICS summit and not the upcoming US presidential election is the key event that will determine the future course of history.
Matvinko emphasized that the world has changed significantly. The upcoming US presidential election will not be the most important event of the year for the world community, and this event will not determine the next course of history. It is the BRICS meeting that will do this.
According to this senior Russian official, the three days of the BRICS summit and the negotiations of the majority of world leaders will have a decisive impact on the future of the world.
The BRICS group was established in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India and China, and South Africa joined it in 2011. In January 2024, Egypt, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia became new members of this group.
The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan from October 22 to 24, and it will be the main event of this group during the Russian presidency.
