Rubio: No one takes Zelnsky’s request for nuclear weapons seriously

reports Mehr News Agency Reuters, Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State Noting that Washington is seeking to reduce the number of nuclear countries, he said, Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelnsky’s request for nuclear arms is not realistic.

Zelnski has called for nuclear weapons for years by repeating its proposal, pointing out that Ukraine had previously possessed nuclear weapons and under pressure from the US, Britain and Russia, calling for nuclear weapons for years. . He has recently cited these weapons as a replacement for non -membership in NATO.
“I don’t think anyone would take this offer seriously,” Rubio said in a conversation with Britbart News. In addition, I don’t think that equipping (Ukraine) with nuclear weapons is a problem.
“We want to decrease the number of nuclear countries rather than increase,” he said.

US Special Envoy in Ukraine had earlier said that Ukraine’s possibility of access to nuclear weapons “is something between a very small and zero.” According to him, Zelnsky’s suggestion contradicts common sense.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova also described Zelnski’s rhetoric as “psychoanalysis” and called it a reflection of Kiev’s efforts to extort from other countries.
