Tunisian sources Report Death of Eight Illegal migrants in Boat Sinking Off Coast
According to the English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen, Tunisian sources reported several fatalities on the country’s coast due to a boat sinking.The sources confirmed that eight illegal migrants died, while over 29 others were rescued after their vessel capsized off Tunisia’s shores.
Notably, Tunisia has replaced Libya as the primary departure point for individuals fleeing poverty and conflict in Africa and the Middle East, seeking better lives in Europe. In recent years, the country has faced an unprecedented wave of migration and repeated tragedies involving African migrant boats capsizing during attempts to reach Italy’s coasts.
