Sudan Army Spokesperson Reports Drone Attack on Key Red Sea Base in Port Sudan
According to a report by teh English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency adn Al Jazeera, the Sudanese army spokesperson announced on Sunday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out their first drone attack on an airbase and other facilities near Port Sudan Airport.
The army spokesperson stated that RSF forces targeted the Osman Digna Airbase, a goods warehouse, and several civilian sites in Port Sudan using suicide drones this morning.
The drone strike on Port Sudan marks a significant escalation in the two-year conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF.
Port Sudan hosts a major airport,military command headquarters,and a strategic port. the coastal city lies along the Red Sea and became Sudan’s temporary capital after RSF forces seized Khartoum, prompting the government to relocate its operations there.
Separately, Sudan’s Foreign Ministry reported that at least 300 people were killed in RSF attacks on El Nuhud city in West Kordofan State, southwestern Sudan.
