Pakistan’s Information Minister Accuses India of Targeting Civilians in Yesterday’s Attacks
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Culture, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher that India targeted innocent women and children in yesterday’s attack on Pakistani territory.
He emphasized that Pakistan woudl declare war if India interfered with its water resources.
The Pakistani information minister also accused India of supporting terrorism in various regions,warning against its actions.
According to the Pakistani official, the country’s air force engaged in an aerial battle with Indian fighter jets that lasted over an hour.Highlighting regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions between the two nations, he added: “Though, the risk of further escalation remains.”
In another part of his remarks, Taraar warned: Any attempt by India to cut off or divert flowing waters to Pakistan will be considered an act of war by Islamabad.
Indian Official: Our strike on Pakistan was calculated
Meanwhile, an Indian government official claimed in an interview with CNN: Our strikes on Pakistani soil targeted terrorist infrastructure and were measured and non-escalatory.
The official also responded to Islamabad’s claim of downing Indian fighter jets, stating: We are reviewing further details regarding this allegation.
Pakistan’s UN representative: We are ready to de-escalate tensions with India
Pakistan’s representative at the United Nations, in an interview with Al Jazeera, strongly criticized India’s recent actions in the Kashmir region, calling these attacks a “blatant violation of international charters.” He emphasized that Islamabad reserves the right to respond appropriately.
The Pakistani diplomat, while announcing widespread international support for Pakistan’s request to launch an investigation into the attack in Kashmir, added: India has resorted to provocative actions, completely disregarding international laws.
The Pakistani official emphasized that Islamabad does not seek to escalate tensions with New Delhi, stating clearly: We are fully prepared for any form of dialog or mediation to reduce tensions with India.
