European Countries and Ukraine Emphasize Full and Unconditional Ceasefire Starting Monday
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera Qatar,the European Union and Ukraine issued a joint statement announcing an agreement on a complete and unconditional halt to hostilities starting Monday,lasting for at least 30 days.
The statement reads: “if Russia imposes any conditions, this will be seen as an attempt to prolong the war and undermine diplomatic efforts.”
Europe and Ukraine also stressed that a accomplished ceasefire requires effective monitoring, achievable through close coordination with the United States.
Moreover, both sides emphasized the necessity of strengthening Ukrainian forces as the primary guarantee for preserving Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.
The statement warns that if Russia refuses to accept an unconditional ceasefire, new sanctions should be imposed on its banking and energy sectors.
