Fidan: Russia and Ukraine must decide whether they want peace or conflict

According to ‍the English section​ of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and RIA ⁢novosti, Hakan Fidan,‍ Turkey’s Foreign Minister, said on Friday:​ “We are pleased with the meeting of Russian⁤ and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul.⁣ The delegations of‌ Russia and Ukraine ​must decide ⁣for themselves whether they want ‍to achieve peace or continue destructive conflict.”

The Turkish​ Foreign Minister added: “The negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul⁢ are crucial ⁢for preparing a potential meeting between the countries’ leaders.The ⁤first meeting of ⁣Russian and ‍Ukrainian⁢ delegations after‌ 3 years ⁤is an chance that must be valued,​ as each‍ day of conflict leads to casualties.”

Hakan Fidan ‌ further stated: “Ankara believes that talks between Russia and Ukraine‌ in Istanbul can lead to ⁢ peace, provided both sides adopt a constructive approach.”
