Zelensky ready again for direct meeting with Putin

The spokesperson for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry announced that the country’s president is ⁢ready for direct negotiations with his Russian⁢ counterpart.

According to the English section of webangah News ​Agency, ⁢citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the spokesperson for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry⁢ stated that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is prepared‌ for direct ​talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s remarks come ⁤as Zelenskyy said today in a speech: “I was ready ⁢to meet ⁢Putin in‌ Ankara or Istanbul to⁣ resolve all critical issues,but‌ he agreed to nothing.”

Zelenskyy added: “Ukraine is ready ‍to do ​whatever it takes to‌ end the war, and I call on Putin to grant ⁣real ⁢authority to his ⁤country’s negotiating team.”

The Ukrainian president also stated ‍after a phone call with his American⁣ counterpart, Donald‌ Trump: “Ukraine is prepared to take swift measures to ‍achieve peace.”

Zelenskyy further emphasized: “If Russia ⁢refuses a‌ ceasefire,​ it must face severe sanctions. Pressure ‍on Russia must continue until it ⁢agrees‌ to end ​the ⁢war.”

These developments⁢ coincide with Ukrainian and Russian⁣ negotiation teams meeting ⁤and holding talks today, Friday, in Istanbul, Turkey.
