Zionist General Says Israeli Army Staying in Gaza Means Suicide
The Hebrew newspaper Maariv, citing retired Israeli Army Maj. Gen. Yitzhak Brick, reported that Israeli soldiers would be exposed daily to rockets, ambushes, and sniper fire if the military opts to stay in Gaza, according to webangah News Agency.
Brick further stated that maintaining Israel’s presence in Gaza without defeating Hamas would result in significant casualties among troops.
Responding to recent remarks by Yair Golan, leader of Israel’s Democratic Party, Brick noted that members of the Likud party are drafting a bill to strip ranks from those advocating disobedience of military orders following Golan’s comments.
Golan had criticized the current war strategy, asserting that Israel risks becoming a “pariah cabinet” among nations. He emphasized that a legitimate government does not wage war on civilians, kill children for sport, or pursue forced displacement as an objective.
The official accused Israel’s cabinet of being driven by vengeance and devoid of moral principles, warning they endanger the country’s existence. His remarks provoked outrage among Tel Aviv officials; Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemned them as “unforgivable” and accused Golan of fueling antisemitism.
