US journalist Rubio does not rule out deal allowing uranium enrichment
According to webangah News Agency, Laura Rozen, a leading US foreign policy reporter, asserts that Secretary of State Marco Rubio hasn’t rejected an agreement permitting uranium enrichment in Iran despite his public opposition to the program.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Rozen wrote: “Rubio acknowledges disagreements about enrichment but from what I’ve heard, he isn’t rejecting a deal that would allow it either.”
The growth follows Rubio’s latest statement yesterday outlining the Trump administration’s position on nuclear talks with Iran: “We hope to reach an agreement with Iran, but achieving a nuclear deal will never be easy. President Trump has made clear Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons. The Trump administration brought Iran back to negotiations. Iran views it’s uranium enrichment as national pride – we see it as proliferation risk. Our negotiating position demands dismantling their enrichment program!”
the Supreme Leader addressed these remarks during the first anniversary commemoration of service martyrs, warning against American rhetoric in indirect talks: “The Americans’ claim about ‘not permitting’ Iranian enrichment contains grave errors – no one in this country awaits permission from others. The islamic Republic will continue pursuing its established policies.”
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reinforced this stance after meeting at Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah: “We’re witnessing wholly unreasonable and illogical American positions - enrichment is absolutely non-negotiable.”
