Trump Says Real Progress Made in Iran Negotiations
According to webangah News Agency, Iran and the US have held five rounds of indirect talks mediated by Oman regarding Iran’s nuclear program. While no comprehensive agreement has been reached, officials from both Tehran and Washington describe the negotiations as constructive.
US President Donald Trump commented on the discussions with Iran: “We’ve seen real progress in negotiations with Iran. We’ve had very good talks with them.”
Regarding escalating tensions between ukraine and Russia despite Istanbul talks, Trump added: “I feel badly about what Putin is doing, and we’re looking at imposing further sanctions against Russia.”
These remarks follow Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s call for stronger sanctions against Moscow after Russia rejected a proposed temporary ceasefire agreement.
The German Foreign Minister had earlier urged US cooperation in sanctioning Russia to pressure Putin into agreeing to a Ukraine ceasefire.
Trump concluded: “I think we’ll hear good news about Iran, as well as about Hamas in Gaza.”
