New York Times: Ukraine’s Attack Proves Ability to Strike Anywhere in Russia

According to webangah News Agency, a‌ US Defense Department official told ​The New⁤ York Times that Ukraine’s recent attack demonstrates its ability to strike nearly any location within Russian territory.

American and European security sources ⁣separately claimed ⁣to the newspaper that approximately 20 Russian strategic aircraft were‍ either destroyed or severely damaged during these attacks.

The same sources stated Russian losses included six long-range bombers and four Tu-22M bombers.

The report indicates US officials confirmed⁣ Kyiv had not informed Washington about planning by Ukrainian ⁤security-affiliated forces prior to ⁤executing these strikes.

The New York Times further reported, citing American officials, that Washington expects Russia will launch a large-scale retaliatory operation in response to ukraine’s attack.
