Russia Offers Elon Musk Political Asylum
According to webangah News Agency,Russia has extended an offer of political asylum to Elon Musk,the world’s richest person,following his public dispute with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
The proposal comes amid escalating tensions between the American billionaire and trump after their recent high-profile clash.
Dmitry Novikov,First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma’s International Affairs Committee,told state-run TASS news agency: “In my view,Musk is playing a completely different game and doesn’t need political asylum. However, should he make such a request, Russia would certainly accommodate it.”
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded to reporters’ questions on Friday regarding the matter: “This is an internal U.S. affair. We have no intention of interfering and are confident the American president can handle this situation independently.”
Russia previously granted political asylum to Edward Snowden, the former NSA contractor who leaked classified U.S. surveillance programs.
