IAEA Board of Governors Quarterly Meeting Kicks Off in Vienna
The IAEA Board of Governors has begun its June quarterly meeting in Vienna with representatives from 35 member states.
The International Atomic energy Agency’s (IAEA) quarterly Board of Governors meeting commenced moments ago in Vienna, attended by delegates from 35 member countries, according to webangah News Agency.
During the session, which continues thru Friday, board members will discuss nuclear safety, safeguards agreement implementation, and the agency’s scientific and research activities.
The 35-member Board of Governors convenes five times annually: in March and June, twice in September (before and after the General Conference), and december. Each member holds one vote.Thirteen members are appointed by the outgoing board-typically advanced nuclear technology states-while 22 are elected regionally by the General Assembly.
