Mass Protests From Rome to Paris Against Zionist Regime’s Maritime Piracy +Video
The interception of a ship carrying pro-Palestinian activists by Zionist forces has sparked widespread backlash, wiht approximately 50,000 people protesting the move in Paris. The demonstration was organized by the French Social Democratic Party “France Unbowed,” which called for the release of the Madelain ship, its crew, and the resumption of its humanitarian mission to Gaza. Protesters chanted slogans such as “Free Palestine.”
Earlier, Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who was aboard the vessel, accused Tel Aviv of “kidnapping” after Israeli authorities blocked the ship’s entry into Gaza. Israel’s Foreign Ministry later announced that activists from the Madelain had been transferred to an airport to leave occupied territories.
French police clashed with protesters at times during demonstrations across cities including Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Reims, and Grenoble.Videos show officers using batons and tear gas to disperse crowds.
Rome and Milan Condemn Madelain’s Seizure
Cities across italy also witnessed large-scale protests against Israel’s attack on the humanitarian vessel. Hundreds rallied with Palestinian flags and signs reading: ”Stop Genocide,” ”No Arms to israel,” “Hands Off Freedom Flotilla,” and labeling Israel a terrorist state-demanding immediate freedom for 12 detained activists.
The Netherlands joins Protests
Protesters gathered outside Dutch Foreign Ministry expressing solidarity w/Palestinians & condemning Madelain’s seizure.
London saw similar rallies denouncing what demonstrators called Israeli piracy; footage shows police confrontations.
The Madelain departed Sicily last Sunday carrying 12 international activists aiming break Gaza blockade deliver aid before being seized yesterday.Israel has maintained naval blockade since2007 intensifying it after Oct2023 aggression.
