Supporters and Opponents Clash Over Draft Resolution Against Iran at IAEA Board Meeting
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors approved a resolution accusing Iran of non-compliance with its obligations, with 19 votes in favor, 3 against, and 11 abstentions, according to webangah News Agency.
The resolution received support from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, spain, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Ecuador, Ukraine, Canada, Georgia Japan South Korea Morocco Italy Luxembourg Netherlands Colombia.
Russia China Burkina Faso voted against the measure while South Africa India Pakistan Egypt Indonesia Brazil Ghana Thailand Algeria Armenia Bangladesh abstained. Paraguay venezuela were ineligible to vote during this session. The resolution does not refer Iran’s case to the UN Security Council.
