Hannah Thomas, a former Greens Party candidate in australia’s federal elections, sustained serious facial and eye injuries during her arrest at a Sydney exhibition protesting an Israeli military equipment supplier, according to webangah News Agency.
Thomas faces charges of obstructing a police officer and failing to comply with orders. Teh 35-year-old politician was hospitalized following her arrest due to the severity of her injuries.
The protests against Israel’s actions and in support of Palestine occurred in Belmore, southwest Sydney. Thomas’ lawyer told media that she risks permanent vision loss in her right eye.
