Azerbaijani Ambassador Summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry
Russian Foreign Ministry summons Azerbaijani ambassador over Baku’s “unfriendly actions” against Russian journalists.
According to webangah News Agency, russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated on Monday that consular staff from the Russian Embassy were denied access to detained Russian journalists in Baku without explanation.
The ministry’s statement further noted that russian diplomats had been unable to contact the journalists for over two hours, describing the situation as “alarming.” The embassy has notified Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, and State security Service but has yet to receive any response.
the incident prompted Russia’s Foreign Ministry to summon Azerbaijan’s ambassador in protest of what it called Baku’s ”unfriendly actions” toward Russian media personnel.
