Chance of Trump-Xi Jinping Meeting Strengthens
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Bloomberg, US Secretary of state Marco Rubio stated after meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Malaysia that a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping is very likely.
Rubio described his meeting with Wang Yi as “very constructive and positive.” This high-level diplomatic exchange is seen as a prelude to a summit between American and Chinese leaders-a meeting that Trump had earlier expressed willingness to hold before the end of 2025.
The US Secretary of State said regarding the potential Trump-Xi encounter, ”Both sides have a strong desire for this.I believe such a meeting is highly probable.”
He added that both countries will cooperate to find ”a date acceptable to both sides” for holding this presidential-level summit.
