Venezuela Fully Backs Cuba Against US Sanctions
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al mayadeen, Venezuela’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a harsh statement condemning the U.S. Secretary of State’s recent comments against Cuba’s president as “shameful” and filled with “hate speech.”
The statement read: “A government official from the united States daring to sanction the president of an independent country is an intolerable insult to international law.”
The Venezuelan ministry also reaffirmed its support for Cuba, declaring: ”We renew our absolute and unconditional support for the people, government, and president of the Republic of Cuba.”
In this context, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said, “We stand alongside president Cuba in opposition to illegal actions by the United States and express our solidarity with him.”
Earlier today, the U.S. Department of State announced sanctions against Cuba’s president over alleged human rights violations.
