Blinken: We Must Clearly State That Iran Has Complied with Its JCPOA Commitments
The English section of webangah News Agency reports,citing mehr News Agency,that former U.S. secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour: “Under the Obama-era agreement (the 2015 deal known as the JCPOA),Iran was allowed to enrich uranium up to 3.67 percent using centrifuges and technology it possessed… Now, if Iran decides over the next several years to continue its nuclear program, it could develop it at depths far beyond any feasible target.”
Blinken further stated in the interview: ”Certainly, trust is an issue. A deal was reached during Barack Obama’s management after negotiations and than violated by Trump. Iran was adhering to its commitments under that agreement (the JCPOA). We must state clearly that the Iranians were complying based on the agreement; not only did international inspectors confirm this, but our own intelligence also verified it.”
