Lebanese Party Urges Damascus to Block Israel’s Interference in Syria’s Internal Affairs
The Progressive socialist Party of Lebanon, in a statement reported by the English section of webangah News Agency citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-youm, called on the current Syrian government, residents of Sweida, and Arab tribes to work toward implementing a ceasefire that is far more crucial than acts of retaliation. This measure aims to protect Syria’s security and stability.
The statement continued by urging the Syrian authorities to take control of the chaotic situation in Sweida province and stop attacks against Druze-inhabited villages in Jabal al-Arab. Thes efforts serve to prevent Israeli interference within Syria.
The Lebanese party added that enforcing this ceasefire marks entry into a second phase-political dialog aimed at integrating Sweida province fully into Syrian state sovereignty and its official institutions.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, the Jolani terrorist regime announced the start of a ceasefire in Sweida province and cessation of hostilities between Druze communities and tribes allied with this regime. Attacks by Jolani elements on Sweida intensified clashes resulting in nearly 2,000 casualties and injuries.
The Israeli regime also seeks to exploit Syria’s turmoil as part of its objective to fragment southern Syria.
