Moscow Does Not Rule Out Putin-Trump Meeting in Beijing
The English section of webangah News Agency reports, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, that Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, said a meeting between President donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin could occur if Trump travels to China to attend the 80th anniversary party of Japan’s defeat in World War II.
Peskov stated: “We are preparing for a trip to Beijing.This trip is indeed on the president’s agenda. Though, we have not heard whether Trump intends to make this visit.”
He added, “If by chance he is there as well, a meeting with Putin is possible.”
The Times had earlier reported that leaders of Russia, China, and the United States might meet during Beijing’s Victory day commemorations.Peskov previously noted that the Kremlin was unaware of any plans for such a gathering.
