Islamic Jihad Calls Seizure of Ship “Hanzala” an Example of Israeli Maritime Piracy
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement issued a statement condemning the israeli military’s violent interception of the relief ship Hanzeh and the arrest of its crew members. The movement described this incident as an example of “brutal and savage piracy” by Israel, according to a report from webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Palestine Information Center.
The statement said: “The people aboard the Hanzeh risked their lives to awaken global conscience to the starvation imposed on our people in Gaza. Their action was a humanitarian and brave effort aimed at breaking international silence over Israel’s crimes.”
The movement praised all humanitarians who have worked tirelessly to break Gaza’s deadly blockade. It emphasized that “the efforts of these heroes, both in this mission and previous ones alike, stand as compelling evidence against those who remain silent or powerless in facing Israel’s war crimes against Gaza.”
Concluding, it stated: “What is happening in Gaza shakes human conscience profoundly. The initiatives taken by freedom advocates worldwide to expose these realities deserve support and honour.”
