Date Set for First Parliamentary Elections After Assad Regime Overthrow
according to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Sana and Mehr news Agency,Muhammad Taha Al-Ahmad,head of Syria’s Supreme Parliamentary Election Committee,stated that the country’s first parliamentary elections following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and under Jolani’s terrorist governance are expected to take place between September 15 and 20.
Al-Ahmad added that several reforms in Syria’s parliamentary election system have been communicated to Jolani, leader of the terrorist faction now controlling the country.
He also announced an increase in parliamentary seats from 150 to 210. The allocation among provinces will be adjusted based on data from the 2011 census. Candidates will have one week to submit their electoral programs before debates commence.
The participation rate of women on electoral commissions is reported to be only 20 percent.
