Egyptian Foreign Minister Holds Talks with Russian Official

Egypt’s ⁤Foreign Minister and Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister met on the sidelines of the international conference⁤ on Palestine in New York.

According to the English section of ⁢ webangah News Agency, citing al-Youm Al-Sabea, Egypt’s⁤ Foreign Minister badr Abdelatty⁤ and Russia’s Deputy ⁣Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin ⁢met in New York to discuss the situation in Gaza and bilateral relations.

The meeting took⁢ place during their attendance at the International Conference on the ‍Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Conflict and Implementation of a Two-State Solution in New ⁤York.

Abdelatty praised Egypt-Russia cooperation on ‍several strategic projects, especially the ⁢El Dabaa nuclear power plant⁣ and the Russian industrial zone within Egypt’s Suez canal Economic Zone. He emphasized Cairo’s⁣ expectation for increased Russian‌ investment through this industrial zone.

The two officials also discussed tourism. Abdelatty highlighted the steady rise in flights between their countries⁢ and expressed hope ⁢that Russian tourist visits to Egypt would continue growing.

The two sides exchanged views on developments in Gaza. ⁢abdelatty outlined Egypt’s position advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza and for delivering humanitarian aid to the area.

They also talked about Egypt’s efforts to host an international conference ​for Gaza’s reconstruction instantly after a ‌ceasefire is achieved.

Additionally, Abdelatty and Vershinin ⁣reviewed Syria’s situation.The Egyptian foreign minister condemned Israeli violations against Syrian territory, stressing‌ the importance of⁢ Israeli withdrawal‍ from all occupied Syrian lands since 1967, including ⁣the Golan⁣ Heights, while respecting Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial​ integrity.
