Germany to Deliver Two Patriot Systems to Ukraine Following Agreement with U.S
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that following an agreement with the United States, Germany will supply two Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
Pistorius explained that under this deal, Germany will be the first country to receive the latest version of the Patriot system from the U.S. in exchange for sending its own units to Ukraine.
The German Defense Minister said in a statement: “Thanks to america’s commitment, Germany can initially support Ukraine by delivering launchers and later provide additional Patriot system components.”
According to this statement, within days the German military will send extra Patriot launchers to Ukraine. In two or three months, it will supply additional parts of the system.
Furthermore,Berlin will receive new versions of the Patriot system from Washington much faster than othre countries as part of this arrangement.
The increasing intensity of Russian night air strikes against Ukraine this summer has heightened Kyiv’s need for enhanced air defense. Reuters claims that Patriot batteries have proven effective at intercepting Russian ballistic missiles.
