German Foreign Minister Urges Tel Aviv to Stop Settler Attacks on Palestinians
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Al-Shorouk, Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul described attacks by israeli settlers on West Bank areas as organized terrorism during his visit to the village of al-Taybeh east of Ramallah.
He stated that settler attacks against the residents of al-Taybeh and othre regions are not isolated incidents but represent organized terrorism and crimes against civilians that must be investigated and stopped.
The German foreign minister also expressed his government’s concern over reports suggesting that the Israeli military either fails to prevent these assaults or may even be complicit in them.
Wadephul urged Tel Aviv to adhere to international laws, hold violent settlers accountable, and protect Palestinian citizens.
He further identified settlement expansion as a significant obstacle to achieving a two-state solution and restricting Palestinian freedom of movement. He stressed the need for effective legislation to deter settler violence.
Notably, on July 28, israeli settlers attacked al-Taybeh by setting fire to two vehicles and writing racist slogans on house walls.
