Ruling Party MP in Germany Calls for Sanctions Against Israel
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the deputy leader of the ruling party’s parliamentary faction in Germany has called for a review of sanctions against Israel.He emphasized that the german government must not remain indifferent to the current situation in gaza.
He stated that berlin should examine sanction options targeting Israel.
Referring to the possibility of suspending military aid to Israel, he said one potential sanction could be halting arms exports to Israel.
The deputy leader of the Social Democratic Party faction also added that suspending agreements between Europe and Israel is another option on the table.
He condemned recent Israeli officials’ remarks claiming ther are no restrictions on humanitarian aid deliveries to gaza as unacceptable. He said, “israel’s claim about unrestricted aid shipments is unconvincing.”
The German parliamentarian stressed that without real pressure applied on the Israeli government, meaningful action from its side should not be expected.
He concluded with a warning: if tangible improvements in Gaza’s humanitarian situation do not occur soon, consequences for Israel must be considered.
