Netanyahu Holds Tense Talks with German Chancellor on Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Al Jazeera, Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that the israeli prime Minister expressed disappointment during a phone call with the German Chancellor over Berlin’s decision to prohibit arms exports to Israel.
The Prime Minister’s office issued a statement saying: “Netanyahu conveyed his disappointment in his conversation with the German chancellor. Rather of supporting Israel’s war against Hamas, which carried out the most horrific attack on Jews as the Holocaust, Germany rewards Hamas terrorism by imposing an arms embargo on Israel.”
Israel’s Channel 13 also reported, quoting an informed source, that the call between Netanyahu and Friedrich Merz was tense. Netanyahu criticized Germany’s ban on weapon sales to Israel and voiced his dissatisfaction given escalating security tensions in Gaza.
The call took place amid growing European criticism of Israeli government policies in the Gaza strip, especially following plans for a full-scale occupation of gaza.
